Chapter 4:The Plant Root
-Plant roots, their function, their ability to help plant grow under a range of soil-climatic conditions. The well maintained of the plant's root will produce healthy trees and vice versa.Roots depends on translocated photosynthates from plant leaves for their energy and structual materials for growth.Photosynthesis system will produce glucose for root and branch. 🌴
A) Every plant has a specific root architecture likes:
-a single tape root with a few lateral roots
-a multiple of primary roots with either a few or many branching lateral roots
-only a librous root system
B) Plant roots functions
-anchoring the plant in the rooting medium to prevents a vessel from moving
-means for water absorption
-scan source of water and supply to plants
-modified the chemical proberties of the rooting environment.
C) Factors that restrict root health
-disease and insert damage
-soil too compact
-soil acidity
-poor drainage
-soil temperature
-element deficiences
-excess salts or Na
-low oxygen
